Including everyone - the Inclusion project

CEWC-Cymru is committed to supporting young people’s participation in decision making, whatever their background. We have therefore developed resources to build the skills of disadvantaged young people with support from the European Social Fund, Welsh Assembly Government, All Different - All Equal (European Youth Campaign) and Equitable Charitable Trust.

We have worked with young people in Special Needs settings, Pupil Referral Units and the Youth Offending sector in order to develop their Key Skills (Working with Others, ICT, Communication) and their knowledge of citizenship themes.

An innovative scheme of work has evolved from this project. This begins with 4 classroom activities based on video and printed stimulus materials. The activities cover the themes of empathy, children’s rights, participation and effective problem solving.

The scheme of work culminates in an animation project. Young people apply the knowledge and skills they have developed during the previous sessions to create the ending of a story using only plasticine and a webcam! See our video gallery below, which showcases the work of young people who have already completed the project.

If you’d like to run this project, take a look at the training and resources sections of this site.
